A Plastic Brain is Good When Making Life Changes?!

Posted on Oct 22nd, 2008 by BrightMichelle : The Soul Coach, Speaker, Author BrightMichelle

Have you ever wondered, like I have, "If we are so smart, how come we keep making the same mistakes over & over again, and creating things that we really don't want in our lives?"

It's very simple: Lack of Learning

What I have seen as a professional Life Coach for the past 10+ years is that the resistance to learning what the Divine is trying to teach you is the cause of your suffering and insanity.

Not very bright, eh?

If you look around in your world, you will see many people whose brain have not been stretched in months, years, even decades.

And I bet you also see a lack of change and personal growth.

You see, when people neglect their most important muscle-their brain, it impacts how dynamic their life is.

I have always been interested in human potential and motivation even as a little girl. I loved learning and spent as much time at the library as I could. So when I wrote my dissertation on the Science of Success, I was able to research how the combination of cognition and coaching empowers human beings to actually "get smarter."

What I found (after reading hundreds of books) is that the brain you have today is not the brain you had yesterday.

And the more you use your brain, the more neuron connections form. (Kind of like when you connect the dots, and then can suddenly see the picture before you).

It is like having an AHA!

Neuro-science technology will actually show the pre-frontal cortex (forehead part of the brain) literally light up when a person learns something new.

This happens all the time with my coaching clients whenever they make a new connection and "get it."

In the field of brain science, there is a term called neuroplasticity, which means simply that you brain is capable of growing throughout your lifetime.

We used to think learning stopped in our 20's and now know better. Research shows that we have the capacity to learn new things up until we take our last breath.

It works kind of like this:

Brain cells--- "neurons" are constantly making structural changes in the brain, forming new synaptic connections with other neurons, and new neuron pathways patterns at the very same time we are learning, thinking, or forming a new memory.

No matter what age, when you stimulate your brain you can grow new connections and increase your capacity for achievement.

Great news, right?

It is, if you want to live a full and happy life, because Learning is a big part of Living.

I just resigned my store.   And am offering a free ebook by James Allen all about PROSPERITY.   It is an amazing little book (short and easy to read)....here is a quote from it:

"To overcome these negative conditions is to enter a life of power, is to cease to be a slave, and to become a master, and there is only one way by which they can be overcome, and that is by steady and persistent growth in inward knowledge." ---James Allen

So I decided to extend the very enlightened person (VEP) offer:
